ISLA is an association open to all persons interested in school librarianship. We are based in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia.
The Illawarra School Libraries Association aims to:
• Promote library services in schools
• Provide opportunities for teacher librarians to meet and exchange views
• Promote training and professional standards in teacher librarianship
The Association caters for current and past teacher librarians in both state and private schools, by providing professional and social opportunities for its members.

Annual General Meeting and Election of Office Bearers for 2026
At our next ISLA network meeting on Wednesday, 3rd December at Woonona High School, 12- 3 pm, we will be holding our AGM. All positions will be declared vacant. To attend the meeting, please see the ISLA News page for registration and RSVP details.
All members and prospective members are invited to attend as we hold an election for office bearers for 2026 for the positions of:
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Primary Rep
- Secondary Rep
- Non-Government School Rep
- Non-Teaching Library Staff Rep
- Technology/ Social Media Co-Ordinator.
There will be an opportunity to find out about ISLA’s operations and finances, ask questions, plan for the rest of the year and vote on any resolutions proposed.
